A pernicious tumor that begins in the ovaries is known as ovarian cancer. There are several kinds and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer begins on the surface of the ovary (epithelial carcinoma) a; this is one of the most common kinds. The egg-producing cells (germ cell tumors) and cancer which begins in the supportive tissue surrounding the ovaries (stromal tumors) are quite rare kinds of Ovarian cancer. Symptoms of ovarian cancer may not appear in early stage. When symptoms of ovarian cancer do appear, it is often at advanced levels. Symptoms of ovarian cancer can include abdominal pain or swelling, polyuria and anorexia. There are still some more symptoms of ovarian cancer that include feeling of fullness even after a light meal and unexplained weight gain or loss. It is not necessary that these are the symptoms of ovarian cancer only but in some other diseases these symptoms can appear too.
Other symptoms of ovarian cancer are abnormal vaginal bleeding that also occurs in many other cases as well. Another symptom of ovarian cancer is pelvic pain which can also occur during menopause. Gastrointestinal problems including gas, bloating, or constipation are also symptoms of ovarian cancer.
